The whole focus last quarter for humanities was to read the book called "The Hate You Give" and filling out a character organization and write an essay. The book “The Hate You Give” is about a teenager named Starr Carter who witnessed one of her childhood friends, Khalil, get shot by an officer who is introduced by “One-Fifteen”.

Summary |
It was a tragedy and it made her face the pressure from both sides of her community. Since she lived in a poor, mostly black neighborhood and then attended a school that is wealthy and mostly a white prep. So when her friend got shot, it created an uneven balance between the two. So, Starr needed to figure out how to find her voice in all of this chaos and stand up for what was right. This also involved the 21st century skill, creativity since I had to use descriptive words and be detailed.
